Starting in 1994, Jeff has been serving the camping industry through one of the largest Christian camping organizations in the nation. As Kanakuk Kamps' chief technology officer, Jeff was tasked with finding a camp registration and management software solution that could handle their needs. Without an off-the-shelf solution available to meet the unique requirements of the camping industry, Jeff set out to learn the inner workings of camp and conference organizations. Armed with this knowledge, he built the first version of the CircuiTree software suite which has been used to great success since 1994.

Because of Jeff’s position as an industry insider and his unique access to its day-to-day operations, paired with his ability to build technology solutions to meet business and operational needs, he is considered the foremost expert on software solutions for the camping industry.

In addition to Jeff’s technological role, he also serves on Kanakuk’s senior management team, providing input and recommendations for a broad range of areas within its organization. Areas include advancement, finance, staffing, merchandising, procedure and policy making, donor development, and many other areas.

Prior to joining Kanakuk Kamps, Jeff established himself as a successful software developer for the health care industry at the American Red Cross. One of his notable applications was presented to the American Red Cross headquarters in Washington, D.C. for nation-wide use. Jeff’s natural ability to pair emerging technologies with real-world problems has put Kanakuk Kamps at the forefront of innovative solutions. Having seen this in action, Jeff was recognized by Cisco Systems Corporation for implementing a Voice-Over-IP phone system many years before its current wide-spread adoption.

Jeff’s leisure time is spent working with kids as a Commander in Royal Rangers, an organization similar to the Boy Scouts but with a spiritual emphasis. Jeff is also a member of the Frontiersman Camping Fellowship and serves on multiple Boards including his local church. Jeff also enjoys playing video games with his son, is a home theater enthusiast, and enjoys photography.
