Camper "care packages" are one of the fastest growing streams of additional revenue that summer camps are taping into. The sales and parent popularity both speak to the great success of this creative way to package some unexpected income into a small bag.
The basic idea is to allow parents the ability to pre-order merchandise that is pre-packaged and waiting for thier camper when they arrive at camp. These bundles of items can be anything from candy, water guns, t-shirts, glow sticks, or sidewalk chalk etc. The success has been found largely because parents are wanting to go the extra mile to make there camper feel excited to be at camp from the first moment they arrive. The diffuculty has remained in tracking and connecting this pre-sold item to a camper registration. What if that camper transfers to another camp? How will you know which campers get ordered them?
